We are currently taking for applications for a Full-time Level III Security Officer. Assignment is located in Fort Worth, and Cleburne. May be required to work weekends. PSB level 3 license required.

Security Officer (PSB Level III)

At Allstar Security, the Security Officer rank is divided into three paygrade advancement ranks: Security Officer I, II and III (Field Training Officer). A Security Officer I is a probationary officer who automatically advances to Security Officer II upon successful completion of his/her probationary period (3 mo.). A Security Officer II can be promoted to the rank of Corporal anytime after 6 mo. of employment as an Officer. A Security Officer may be assigned to a foot post, or a patrol car. Normally, when a security recruit is hired on, he/she is assigned to a post and is considered as a probationary officer and placed under the supervision of a higher-ranking officer, normally a Security Officer III (Field Training Officer) or other higher-ranking officer. All new recruits receive additional and ongoing onsite training.

A Security Officer assigned to a post performs basic duties such as:

  -   Responding to the scene of a crime or an incident;

  -   Interviewing suspects, witnesses;

  -   Writing crime reports; 

  -   Responding to radio calls; 

  -   Monitoring and intervening any suspicious activity or ongoing crimes;

  -   Coordinating vehicular traffic;

  -   Maintains a good report with the owners, managers and employees of a post;

  -   Responding to citizens’ and visitors’ questions;

  -   Preparing Daily Field Activity Reports (If required);

  -   Performing numerous other various activities;

A Security Officer assigned to a specialized unit or as a Desk Officer performs all of the aforementioned duties in addition to performing duties that are unique to these specialized divisions. For example, a Security Officer may be assigned to a school to monitor criminal activity and to maintain liaison with the school officials, or be assigned to monitor surveillance equipment and coordinate other Security Officers.

Licensing Requirements

  1. Applicants must possess their PSB Level III Pocket Card or have recently completed the Level III Training.
  2. Applicants must have a valid Drivers License and a good Driving Record.
  3. (Optional) Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED is a plus but not required.
  4. Must pass a Background check and Drug Screening 

Educational/Physical Requirements

  1. Recruits are required to have completed at minimum a High School Degree or GED.
  2. Must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time.
  3. Must be able to lift or carry up to 80lbs.

Salary and Benefits

New recruits start at $12/hr. and receive onsite training from an FTO (Field Training Officer).

  -  Upon successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, a new recruit is automatically advanced to Security Officer II  and will receive $12.50/hr.


Benefits of each position may vary according to contract. In general, after 3 months of employment, employees will be eligible to receive sick pay and holiday pay and after 12 months, employees will be eligible for vacation pay. No health insurance is available at this time for any employee.

  -  Sick Pay: After 3 months of employment, all employees will be eligible for 5 days of paid sick time or personal leave a year. Any employee who does not take his sick leave by the anniversary date of his initial date of employment, will be monetarily compensated according to his/her average daily salary. No sick time will accumulate or roll over from year to year.

  -  Holiday Pay: Holiday pay is determined on a contract basis. Employees who are required to work on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, or Independence Day will be compensated at time-and-a-half for hours worked.

  -  Vacation Pay: For employees that work year an average of 40 hours of week, 52 weeks a year (excluding security officers working under school contracts), you will be eligible for the following vacation pay benefits:

  · 1 week of Paid Vacation after completing 12 consecutive months of employment or 1 working week at double your standard pay.

Note: Vacation must be taken as it is accrued. All vacation requests must be submitted in writing and approved prior to taking leave. Vacations during busy months will be approved on a case by case basis. 

Restrictions

All applicants must be 21 years of age or older.

All employees will be expected to maintain and project a professional appearance at all times as it relates to job performance. Allstar Security prohibits the use of alcohol and drugs during working hours.

  1. Appropriate uniforms for guard services should be worn by officers at all times while on duty. Tattoos or body art must NOT be visible while wearing the uniform. Including jewelry or piercings. (See Employee Handbook for full details and exemptions)
  2. No Tobacco use either inside or outside any assigned location while on duty. This refers to the carrying or holding of, a lighted pipe, cigar, or cigarette of any kind, or other lighted smoking equipment or device, or the lighting of, emitting or exhaling the smoke of a pipe, cigar or cigarette of any kind, including electronic cigarettes.
  3. Safe-handling and control of all firearms must be maintained at all times.
  4. Absolutely NO playing with firearms or unsafe acts will be allowed.
  5. Communication with staff and clients should be courteous and respectful while carrying out assigned duties.

Alarm Installer/Technician

An Allstar Security Alarm Technican installs and services various burglar alarms systems. All new recruits receive additional and ongoing onsite training.

A Technician performs basic duties such as:

  -   Installing, servicing and Testing Various burglar alarm systems and equipment. (DSC, Honeywell, 2Gig, Etc.)

  -   Installing and Service CCTV/IP Cameras, and Access Control systems 

  -   Running wire and hanging devices

  -   Provide feedback to immediate supervisor on potential issues in the field as well as project progress. 

  -   Communicate effectively; maintain a professional appearance and mentality.

  -   Able to attend and successfully complete various training seminars.

  -   Various additional tasks

A Technician may be assigned a service vehicle equipped with various equipment. vehicle must be kept neat and in an orderly fashion. 

Licensing Requirements

  1. Applicants must possess their PSB Level I Pocket Card or have recently completed the Level I Training.
  2. Applicants must have a valid Drivers License and a good Driving Record.
  3. (Optional) Fire Alarm Licensing a plus, but not required. 
  4. Must pass a Background check and Drug Screening

Educational/Physical Requirements

  1. Recruits are required to have completed at minimum a High School Degree or GED.
  2. Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor, 
  3. ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance, 
  4. Climb ladders, operate lifts, use power tools, ability to carry 6 foot and 8 foot ladders
  5. Be punctual, and have a high attendance record 

Salary and Benefits

New recruits start at $12/hr. 

  -  Upon successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, a new recruit is automatically advanced to Technician and will receive $12.50/hr. (Or more based on experience and holding additional licensing)

  -  A Technician may be assigned a service vehicle equipped with various tools and equipment. vehicle must be kept neat and in an orderly fashion and free of damage. Loss of tools, equipment or damage to the vehicle or equipment will be taken out of the employees pay. Vehicle will be GPS tracked and Speed Monitored.
